Chelsea, 35 weeks pregnant~ Kitimat/Terrace Maternity Photographer
Winter sessions are becoming more and more popular and I get it. It’s beautiful, I mean it is truly magical and special.
How lucky are those mommies who expecting their babies in winter months?! It can be cold of course to have an outdoor session when it’s below zero but the images you get are so worth it! I promise you will treasure them for lifetime.
Just the light alone… it is sooo beautiful! I adore winter short cloudy days when the light is so soft and even. You can shoot any time of the day and get an amazing result.
This winter we are so lucky to get tons of snow in Kitimat, British Columbia. What a joy for outdoor photographers!
I had a privilege to photograph Chelsea and Lee who are awaiting their first baby. Winter maternity shoots are probably one of my most favourite outdoor sessions. All you need is a couple who expecting their bundle of joy, beautiful surroundings and snow!
This session was held in the beautiful area of Onion Lake, amazing place between Kitimat and Terrace. The trees were covered in snow, it was hard to walk as their was more than 2 feet of snow over the weekend and let’s be honest it wasn’t warm.
But this gorgeous mommy to be was so brave to stand there for half an hour and not complain at all while I was busy directing her on how to pose embracing this special moment of anticipation and beauty of a new life.
Even though my style is very natural and not too posed I still direct my clients on how to stand and how to turn to get the best angle as it is everything to get a beautiful end image!
And the images we got are just stunning! What a keepsake for this family! How wonderful it will be to share them with their baby and tell the story of that cold winter snowy day when they were so excited and full of joy to meet their baby so soon!
I can’t wait to meet their baby in a couple of weeks!
